A Path 4 Paws Food & Supply Drive: League Members Step Up for Second Annual Fundraiser

ree

Thanks to the incredible dedication and generosity of our league members, the 2nd Annual A Path 4 Paws Food & Supply Drive was a resounding success! We are proud to announce that this year's effort raised $850 in cash and collected multiple boxes of food and essential supplies, all benefiting A Path 4 Paws, a local nonprofit rescue that provides shelter, medical care, and love to dogs in desperate need.

Located right here in Las Vegas, A Path 4 Paws currently has over 175 dogs, many of whom were saved from high-risk situations—including those at kill shelters and others suffering from medical neglect. They have saved over 3000 dogs since they began their mission in 2017. With every dollar raised and every item donated, our league members helped give these dogs, and many others, a second chance at life.

On Saturday, July 26, 2025, Katrina and I had the privilege of dropping off this year's donations and visiting with Marlene Szalay, the Event Coordinator for A Path 4 Paws.

Marlene shared with us one major highlight this year: the rescue recently acquired a new transport van, made possible by an $80,000 grant. This van replaces their previous leased vehicle, which cost the or

ganization $1,800 per month. This grant ensures more funds can now go directly toward veterinary care, food, and sheltering services.

This year’s fundraiser was more than a donation drive—it was a demonstration of heart. You, the members of the Misfits Poker League, showed up in force with open wallets and open hearts, with a genuine desire to support a mission rooted in compassion and care within our local community.

After our visit on Saturday, I really encourage you to tell a friend, volunteer, continue to donate, and foster or adopt, if you can. Every little action on your part creates a positive ripple that can never be stopped.

To all who contributed: Thank you for making a difference. Your support doesn’t just feed dogs—it fuels hope.

Special thank you to Marlene and the entire staff at A Path 4 Paws for their hospitality and kindness during our visit.
