Dale Schuman Battles the Field in WSOP Mystery Millions — A Run to Remember

Dale Schuman, a proud member of the Misfits Poker League, made a remarkable run in the $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Mystery Millions event at the WSOP, finishing Day 1 in 49th place out of a jaw-dropping 19,654 entrants. It was an electrifying start to the tournament, with Dale skillfully navigating the massive field and putting the Misfits League on the map with his deep stack going into Day 2.

But as poker often reminds us — the game can be as cruel as it is thrilling.

Dale’s Day 2 started with immense promise but quickly turned into a nightmare. In a gut-wrenching sequence of hands, he found himself on the wrong side of variance. First, he looked down at pocket kings — only to lose a massive 1.2 million chip pot to pocket queens after his opponent hit a devastating queen on the turn.

Just two hands later, the poker gods struck again. Holding pocket queens, Dale ran into ace-king and watched helplessly as a king landed on the flop. And just like that — five hands into Day 2 — his incredible journey came to a heartbreaking end.

“Couldn’t have had a worse start to my day if I had planned it,” Dale said. “I feel like I want to throw up right now. I am so sick to my stomach.”

While the ending wasn’t the storybook finish we’d all hoped for, Dale’s performance was nothing short of inspirational. To rise above nearly 20,000 players and finish Day 1 in the top 50 is an extraordinary accomplishment that deserves recognition.

From the entire Misfits Poker League and poker fans everywhere — we salute you, Dale. You played like a champion, and we’ll be cheering even louder for your next deep run.

💪 Keep your head high. The felt will call again — and we know you'll answer.
