Daniel Stepanian Takes His Shot at WSOP Colossus – A Rollercoaster Ride in Flight 1C

On June 6, 2025, Daniel Stepanian took his seat at the 2025 World Series of Poker Colossus Event #19, a $500 No-Limit Hold’em tournament that draws thousands of hopefuls each year chasing poker glory and life-changing prize pools.

Armed with determination and seated at Black 120, Seat 8, Stepanian’s day began slow—so slow, in fact, that he described himself as “card dead.”

The first break came and went with only two hands played: one open raise that went uncontested and another win as big blind with zero resistance. His chip stack hovered at 38,500, but there was still plenty of game left.

The pace soon changed. Holding Jacks, Stepanian faced a setback and saw his stack trimmed. Later, he found himself in a pivotal three-way pot, one player all-in. Holding Ace-King, Stepanian chopped the pot and joked, “Holy s&*t! I chopped a pot! I'm on fire!” It was a small win, but a glimmer of hope in an otherwise tough grind.

Unfortunately, as is often the case in poker, variance struck again. In a devastating hand, Stepanian got it in with Ace-King against Ace-Ten, only to see a Ten fall on the flop. That card spelled the end of his Colossus run.

He summed up the feeling with raw honesty: “I’m going down like the Titanic.”

Though the Colossus journey came to an abrupt end, Stepanian isn’t done yet. With the Salute to Warriors event next on deck, he’s keeping the fighting spirit alive—ready to shuffle up and deal once more.

Congratulations, Dan, on a great run. The entire Misfits Family is proud to have you and will be cheering you on in the Salute to Warriors on June 15th at the Horseshoe!
