Peter Legner Bags Chips and Cashes in WSOP Event #19 After an Emotional Grind

Updated: Jun 8

For Peter Legner, the 2025 World Series of Poker is already unforgettable.

Legner took his shot in Event #19: $500 No-Limit Hold’em on June 4 — one of the most

popular mid-stakes events on the WSOP schedule. With over 500K chip stacks in play across the tournament floor and full 9-handed tables at every corner, the action was intense and unforgiving from the start.

Peter was seated at Table BLUE 420, one of the most stacked tables in the room. With chip leaders sitting on 576,000 and multiple players already deep into six-figure territory, surviving the day would be no easy feat.

And at first, he looked unstoppable.

"I was doing really well for the first 6 hours..."

But tournament poker, as always, turned cruel.

He hit a brutal stretch, sliding all the way down to 50,000 chips as the blinds hit 1,500/3,000. The dream was hanging by a thread — until a single moment flipped the narrative:

"I doubled up the last hand before dinner break… back up over 100K. I need luck — I’ve had none till that last hand."

With renewed hope and a still-fighting stack, Peter pushed through the remainder of the day.

And then it happened — he bagged chips.

More importantly: he made the money in a World Series of Poker event.

“Tears in my eyes... I bagged chips and made money in the World Series of Poker.”

Peter will return Sunday for Day 2 with chips in the bag and a new shot at WSOP glory. No matter what happens from here, he’s officially in the money and officially in the books.

Congratulations Peter!

The entire Misfits Family is cheering you on!!
