21 patrons came to Joe's Bar to play Texas Hold'em Wednesday night. Most couldn't care less that it was the first game of the Stanley Cup. They came to focus on the first-place prize in poker.

Although his attention was distributed between being a carpenter (fixing table rails after cards slid underneath the cushion), player-knocker-outer (helping the dealers log stats accurately), and horseshoe producer (being a luck box), Lance Palmer kept his game face on. With all his responsibilities as a Misfits manager keeping him occupied from dwelling on the bad beats, he stayed true to his game and prevailed.

The real winner, though, was Pamela Thomas, who was fighting paranoia in the final battle for the podium. Being short-stacked and watching the chip giants fold to each other got her thinking that maybe, just maybe, something fishy was a brewing. Out of pure frustration and determination, she managed to put all suspicions aside and picked her spots wisely. Her second-place finish was nothing short of another poker-themed miracle.

Third-place finisher Dan Stepanian's was in disbelief as he managed to witness everything untangle. Congratulations y'all, and thank you for a fun-filled night of mishaps and miracles.
Check out Joe's Bar (2851 N Rancho Dr) and Misfits Poker on Wednesday nights at 6 pm.
