Peter Legner’s WSOP Journey – A Short Run on Day 2, But a Proud Moment

Peter "Hot Damn" Legner’s second day at the 2025 World Series of Poker Event #19- The Colossus, came and went in the blink of an eye, lasting just 15 minutes.

On only his third hand of the day, Legner was dealt pocket jacks—only to watch an ace fall on the river, giving his opponents A-J the win and leaving Peter severely short-stacked. Just five hands later, he picked up A-Q and moved in, only to run into pocket queens. With no ace on the board, Peter’s tournament came to an end.

Despite the early exit and a WSOP Cash for $1010, there was a small personal highlight: Peter found himself seated next to a fellow player from Piqua, Ohio—just 15 minutes from where he grew up—adding a touch of nostalgia to an otherwise tough day on the felt.

The entire Misfits Poker League family is incredibly proud of Peter and his achievements during this year’s WSOP. His determination, class, and strong play embody the spirit of the Misfits, and we can’t wait to see him back at the tables—both in the league and wherever the cards take him next.
