On Wednesday, October 29, the Misfits Family gathered to say their goodbye's to a dear friend, Pam Thomas. She has decided to move back to New Jersey to be closer to her sister.
Pam's final night with Misfits was one from the record books. We had Shelly Johnson hit a Royal Flush holding only the King of Diamonds. Not only did she hit the best of the best, she completed the 6 card straight when the 9 of diamonds appeared on the river.

I had the privilege of being seated next to Pam at the final on this particular night. Best hand of the night, IMO, goes to Pam, and she didn't even win the hand. She did, however exhibit some very disciplined play. We were 6 or 7 handed at the final table. There were 4 or so players in the hand, with the two key players being Mike Chilarski and Pam. After the pre-flop action, the flop comes out KKQ. Pam bets 8K, action folds to Ski, who announces,"Sorry, Pam, I'm all in."
They are now heads up and Pam begins to tank for several minutes, stating that she "doesn't think she can lay this down." The table is quiet, giving her the time and respect she deserves to make this decision. After a few minutes of verbal jousting with herself, Pam mucks her hand showing K8 suited. That's right, she laid down trip kings facing an all-in bet for her tournament life.
Ski ryly smiles and turns over KQ showing the flopped full house, meaning that Pam, had she called, would have been drawing stone cold dead. One of, if not the greatest lay down I've ever personally witnessed. Well played Pam, you are a wonderful poker player and it was a joy to witness this.
We had a wonderful evening of laughter, jokes, and togetherness as the entire group enjoyed cupcakes and cookies provided by Shelly Johnson and Stephanie Tomasello.
Pam finished 2nd to Garth for the night, but she is without a doubt, number one in my book. Truly a first class lady, who brings nothing but joy and humor with her to every Misfits event she attended. She exudes love and respect for this carzy game of poker and has been a great example of what it means to be a Misfit. While she is no longer in Las Vegas, she will always be a part of the Misfits family and we are so excited for her and the adventures that await on the east coast. I can't wait to hear about the tournaments she's gonna crush in Atlantic City.

We also look forward to seeing her very soon, as she will be returning to play in the FPN
National Championship Series in January 2026.
Thank you Pam, for all the good works and positivity you brought to the Misfits Poker League. You are a testament of the great women in poker and a wonderful human being that many of us are blessed to call a dear friend.
We will miss you. We will also celebrate and watch you with a keen eye and a caring heart, as you navigate this next wonderful and exciting chapter of your life.
All the very best, Pam. We love you!
