For those of you who don't know me, I'm Lance, aka The Councilman.
Each week I'll provide a unique twist, review, lesson, or story on anything poker related. In general, poker may be an individual sport, but it takes all kinds of fun and unique people to truly enjoy the game. This week in Episode 5 of The Councilman's Corner, This week kicks off a new year. The new year means so many different things to so many different people. This year one of the things I'm commiting to becoming a more disciplined poker player. Here's my take on what it takes to move to the next level in the poker world. Granted, I'm not a pro, never claimed to be a pro and quite frankly, don't want to be a pro. That being said, I do want to improve my game, and hopefully you do as well. Growth in the game comes in many different forms. Let's explore together and discover what works for each of us individually in the new year.

HOWEVER, due to the TOC's that are being held on October 1st at Joe's and October 3rd at Putter's, and since none of the TOC's count towards any regular season standings, the Misfits Poker League Season will officially kickoff on October 4th.

This includes any behavior deemed unethical or complicit in an attempt to gain an unfair advantage in any live or online game with the Misfits Poker League or FPN."
WEEKLY RULES REVIEW!
This weeks rules review goes over TDA Rule 69, MPL PCOC Rule 9, and MPL RTI Rule 4.
Nobody likes to have to abandon or surrender their stack during a tournament, but the fact of the matter is, it happens and it needs to be done.
Please read this article as it pertains to the ins and outs of how these rules work together and how they will be enforced and what you can do to avoid facing a penalty during a tournament.
